We walk along the streets of #mexicocity. Really, I'm following @lessardgabrielle, she is taking me to a #bakery, as a #bakersdaughter, this is exciting. She won't give me any hints but the moment arrives when I see a shop w tables & tables of #pandulce, #galletas y #gelatina. We walk along the streets of #mexicocity. Really, I'm following @lessardgabrielle, she is taking me to a #bakery, as a #bakersdaughter, this is exciting. She won't give me any hints but the moment arrives when I see a shop w tables & tables of #pandulce, #galletas y #gelatina. I grab a tray & tongs then proceed to stalk the other customers to see what they pick. There is a unassuming piece of #pan, that many have put on their trays in even numbers of two, four or six. It's a simple slice of #bread w a white spread sprinkled w granulated sugar. I break the rules & only take one plus few other choices. Procedure is queen here at #panaderiaideal, you drop your tray off to be bagged & pay at the cashier b4 you pick up your order. It's been in business for 91 years so who am I to question anything. We don't leave but head up the stairs to see why this place took two pages in the guide book. There is floor of special occasion #cakes, hundreds of them! Made of foam but decorated in real icing now I know if I ever need #cake for five hundred w fancy frosting, this is the place! PS I went back to buy an even number of that bread slice w the intention to pass out here in #oakland. If you are reading this, I totally meant to share but ate most of them myself.
