Rec: I thought this was going to be a meta or a collection of disjointed scenes, but it’s actually a very lovely if emotionally intense story about John working in a COVID-19 ICU ward for two months. Between physically and mentally exhausting shifts, he finds refuge, comfort, and support at home from Sherlock. This beautifully puts the heavy personal toll of the pandemic on display, and while there are some difficult moments, the overall theme is of hope and strength.
From the author’s notes, it sounds like they are a healthcare provider who has been working the front lines. As such, this is extremely detailed and realistic, and contains scenes of dying and death. Tagging as sickfic for that reason but don’t worry, neither John nor Sherlock gets sick.

So, a bit of context about me: I haven't been very active in the Sherlock/Johnlock fandom in over a year mostly because I'm still mad about s4 and as a med student I don't have enough time like I used to. Around 2018 I stopped reading fics (something I made every single day) for the reasons explained before and what I call "readers' block", but quarantine made me look at my 'to read' list of fics and this one got my attention and I'm so glad it did.
This fics have a lot of things I love (beside of johnlock, obviously): angst, slow burn, parentlock, medical realism, post s4 fix fic, etc... In the perfect amount and combination! It evenade me cry in front of my mother but I was so so so happy to feel the emotion of reading a Johnlock fic again and remember how deeply attached to this characters and their story and I'm just so grateful with the amazing writer.
So, this is long enough but please read it, you won't regret it.
