At the beginning of this season I played all ten games with my friends and they played dps while I played support and when we got ranked there was literally a 300 point difference in our ranks. Apparently some professional teams who climb together will have their supports not able to play with them because the gap gets so big

yeah it’s pretty disasterous :/ i mean i love playing support but the ‘points via how on fire you are’ needs to be changed [especially since lucio’s on fire rating thing got a huge nerf lol]- like make it an avg of what your team gains/loses or something b/c supports can’t do anything w/o their team (and the opposite is true as well)

i mean maybe I’m just Not That Good™ but I’ve just been constantly losing rank [like on the order of 400 pts or something] and it makes it pretty demoralizing haha. it’s not l can’t play DPS either, I can, I just genuinely enjoy playing support (which is. probably weird of me)- I like to play whatever isn’t filled generally

anyway it’s unfortunate b/c it’s like ‘is it my fault as a support for my team losing?’ or is it ‘god there’s only so much that I, a single lucio, can do’ and then u lose and it’s bye bye 100 rank points

My deal about esports is that it always makes whatever game they're about less fun? Like cool as a concept apart from regular sports but especially in games like League of Legends many people will copy only what the pros do, which can lead to a major unbalancing in the game because so many people are just copying the esports players which is really annoying to deal with.

yeah I can definitely see that being a problem- established game meta can really cause people to just play the same games over and over (like what’s the point haha?)- but at that point I feel like the impetus is sorta on game developers to change up the playing field so to speak. to like correct imbalances and constantly tweak so that there is no one perfect meta. which I think is also pretty interesting b/c what other sport has basically the rules of the game constantly changing and people needing to adapt their strategies idk
