Ukrainian cities before and after the arrival of the russians.
The city of Bakhmut, more than a year after its "liberation" by russia. It used to be one of the very few cities in the east of Ukraine where some of the historical architecture has been preserved, as most of it was lost during WW2 and replaced with soviet ugliness.
Wine was made here, salt was mined, metal was processed, and more than 70,000 people called it home.
Then russia came and took it all away.
Before it was razed to the ground by russians, Bakhmut was famous for its roses.

The city was destroyed by the russians in the 2022 full-scale invasion.

🎮While playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R., remember Volodymyr Yezhov, one of its developers who died defending Bakhmut in December 2022. His face inspired the character Loki — both in-game and in life hero.
