Perfect Digivolution Tree: Bakomon
i'm going to just declare this poll a tie
A Digimon hiding it's true form within some cardboard boxes because it is that insecure and noncombative
I am kind of surprised this is listed as a mutant digimon not a puppet type it fits the group aesthetic of puppet type digimon and it is sort of puppeting around it's cardboard box armor.
it prefers to stay inside probably pretending to be a pile of boxes in the corner and will perform a restraining technique taping up and boxing anybody who tries to snoop inside their boxes. but it feels more secure to go outside with it's cardboard disguise.
hold on it spends its time in isolated places pretending to be a box like some sort of.....
Mimicmon
trading it's boxes for a cage/ treasure chest like disguise and changing it's type from bakomons data type to a virus type using all the data from virus types it has captured and sealed away within itself.
Omekamon
in true digimon fashion bakomon is trading in it's homemade cardboard disguise for a home made omegamon/omnimon cosplay gaining confidence by imitating a stronger digimon it admires.
Bakemon
bakemon is sometimes a bit of a failure digivolution implying the digimon didn't quite survive to finish digivolving into anything else.
and with how many stories there are where an introverted characters becomes so introverted they turn invisible, or intangible, or are forgotten and enter a sort of in between life and death state it kind of makes sense for bakomon to have bakemon as a dedicated evolution possibility.
the similarity in the names might be a problem.
Lianpumon
again trading in it's cardboard box for an upgrade this time a more outgoing personality and an infinite series of masks that can even be used to express it's emotions, it even gains a special mask that can raise it's defensive capabilities a big change from the low defense of it's soft cardboard armor.
Raremon
failing to digivolve to it's true potential it's body deteriorates into an undead pile of rotting flesh
but if treated with love and extra care it can pull itself together and craft a new disguise digivolving into extyrannomon.
Rockmon/Golemon
baring it all free from all the constraints of its need for a disguise or any outward form stripped down the bare essentials of a body made only of a digital wire frame.
Rockmon is another niche digimon like atamadekachimon I am a big fan of but opportunities to suggest it as a digivolution are going to be a lot rarer.
that being said not made of rocks, and theres already a digimon named golemon that was at one point also called rockmon so I think this lad is in need of a new name.
Additional notes
I also think it could be fun if a Digimon Story game gave bakomon a random digivolution option, a high risk high reward game of whats in the box maybe a 1% chance of digivolving to omnimon and a 1% chance of digivolving to idk botamon or something either way with no way to dedigivolve directly back to bakomon.
it would never happen for balancing reasons and also because what even would the stat requirements be but I imagine it would lead to hilarious situations

Growlmon
another option is a slot that changes every piece of digimon media bakomon appears in where it gets one randomly assigned champion and the implication is it was actually a different rookie in disguise
in this case the funniest choice would be Growlmon as a reference to Digimon Tamers when Takato had to hide guilmon using a cardboard box.

fun concept with a dollop of creepy to compliment the cute. great monster to imagine while in class or at the post office. I kind of don't like its little gift knee but 🤷♀️
