Mothers ushered their children by and threw scathing glares at him but he only chuckled and ignored them. Mariku straightened up and pushed his fringe from his eyes, peering under his hand, shielding the sun, at Bakura who was still huddled under the sun umbrella with a straw in a coconut half. “Come look at it!” he beckoned to his companion.

Marik fidgeted as he felt the air change as the storm rolled closer to his small shed in the woods, too nervous to do much more than pick at his food.  Out of the window, he saw someone walking.  That’s strange, he thought, people don’t usually come out this far…  He stood and tentatively walked out the front door, noting the darkening sky.  Finding the person again wasn’t that hard, he was the palest person Marik had ever seen.  Definitely not from the town.  Jogging to catch up to him, Marik called out.

“Hey!  Storm’s coming fast, and town’s 15 minutes away.  Need a place to stay for a night?”

The white haired man had his back turned to Marik, hair in a ponytail, but he couldn’t see any other features
