So what do we do now? Threaten to stop watching en masse for the tenth time, but in reality keep lending our support to this shit show in the form of publicity and convention-attending? scare the writers off twitter with a constant wave of criticism and biting questions like they did with Joss Whedon recently? Stick around with the hopes that they can somehow, despite all evidence to the contrary, make up for this?
First off I’m gonna need you to actually read what Joss Whedon himself said about why he left before you use that as an example. That rumour/assumption needs to end.
Those who’re no longer getting any enjoyment of it at all should probably stop watching, though it’s rarely that cut-and-dry. Speaking for myself here I’ve been burned pretty fuckin’ bad but I’m emotionally invested enough in this show and in its fandom to stick around for the time being; I KNOW this show can do better, and when it’s on point it’s very enjoyable, to say nothing of the fact I’ve built my Tumblr reputation and following on SPN meta analysis.
On the other hand, I’m not a Nielsen household (I don’t own a TV lol), I don’t buy the official merchandise, and my first convention may well be my last one after all this bullshit. I’m giving them to S11. If Buckner and Ross-Leming are on the writer team for next season, I’m walking away from the live show. I’ll stick to reviewing the first 10 seasons and engaging in transformative works. Once I figure out where to send it I’m also gonna be writing an honest-to-hell strongly-worded letter to the studio and network about this.
That’s the path I’ve deemed right for me. Everyone else will have to decide on their own.
Why is the path unclearwhen we know home is near?Understand we’ll go hand in hand, but we’ll walk alone in fear.Tell me where do we go from here?
