Today is the Eighth of Sun's Dawn, the Day of Release. A celebration of a victorious battle against the Alessian Order by Aiden Direnni is held on this date. Although there were many such battles, the holiday most likely celebrates the Battle of Glenumbra Moors. During this battle Prince Aiden, greatly outnumbered and with little territory remaining, managed to finally halt the Alessian advance and force them to retreat all the way back to Cyrodiil. The battle would be remembered as one of the greatest disasters the Alessian Order would ever experience, and simultaneously broke Direnni rule in High Rock by depleting their numbers. By 1E 500, the rising Breton nobility took control of nearly all Direnni territory in High Rock, with the exception of the Isle of Balfiera.
