I can't stand how much I like the way he looks in old peace ugh kill him again so I don't have to confront that
A gem from Reddit about the changed location of the conclave console
And of course the only understandable response:
Hope you don't mind, but there was no way I couldn't just not make this
That's incredible lmaoooo
I keep seeing posts about how Roathe is telling a completely different narative about Ballas and Margulis (if not downright lying about their relationship) when the perspective he gives us is only expanding our knowledge of their relationship.
Roathe tells us that Ballas truly did love Margulis once, but once the Tenno were in the picture, they took his place as who she loved most.
He’s saying that what they had was love, but Ballas was at his core, Orokin. Once Margulis wasn’t focused on him, once his love was not satisfactory anymore, his love and devotion turned into obsession and cruelty.
So no, we aren’t being told two different stories about Ballas and Margulis. We’re being told how it started while we already know how it ended.
Drifter the Fact-checking Champion of the Lotus (and Natah and - particularly relevant here - Margulis too)
Roathe: "They were in love, whether you wish to believe it or not. Ballas eshewed all class rules and tradition to take as his lover - and his sole romantic companion - an Archimedean. Only true love could have sent a man so spectacularly mad as it sent him, when it all went so very wrong..."
Drifter: *pulls out a Twilight Apothic*
Roathe: Oh, come on, you weren't there!
Drifter: Let's hear what Margulis' colleague Silvana, who worked with her to help the Tenno, had to say about what Ballas' Warframe program did with their work:
Silvana: "My childhood dream has become a nightmare. I don't blame Margulis, she's as much a victim as the children we're working with. At first, the project seemed therapeutic and nurturing. I was myself. But now... Transference therapy is being turned into a weapon. Now I build these vile weapons called "Warframes" all for one purpose: death. I've become everything I hate."
