I hc that percys actually not a pompous prick. He's just better at hiding stuff than the twins.

- he has the the stuck up rule following (voice??? Idk how else to describe it) because he smokes and needs to hide the rasp. So ofc he chooses the most over the top way to.

- he always dresses fully covered. And if he even wears shorts or a t shirt it's basically a strip tease. And thats bc he has tattoos. And there's NO WAY Molly's ever finding that out.

- and his job during school was an accountant at an underground fighting club ( this ideas from a fic on ao3 called "The Secrets Of Percy Weasley by SoFrBoe" genuinely soo good.) And yeah he definitely sparred there.

- hes also a vegetarian idk it just makes sense to me that this was the reason he wouldn't eat dinner at the great hall since the only thing he can basically eat over there is salad (and he doesn't want to be victim to Ron's terrible table manners)

- also, he still does like school and wants to get good grades. He probably believes it's stupid to think otherwise.

- percy would probably would push his glasses up before destroying someone completely. Cause he knows how odd it looks when he does it with a straight face and all, but it's funny to him.

- he can forge anyone's signature.

- he has that prefect voice trademarked. Its probably more scarier than molly's.

Side note on Percy as a scholar in a family of warriors: it's always struck me as odd that Percy found the presence of mind in the Battle of Hogwarts not only to make jokes in the middle of a pitched battle but also use something so complicated human transfiguration on a former head auror at virtually the same time. I don't even remember human-animal transfiguration being used offensively in the battle by anyone else.

Given how Bill is a very action-oriented "cool guy" who turns out to be an academic achiever, I'm wondering if Percy is the same but obversely-oriented: A scholar-warrior. And while he's probably more of a Scholar, I think he may be more of a duelist/direct confrontation-type warrior than most of his siblings.

In any case, the idea that Percy is an especially competent combatant is the only way teen-aged Fred and George's bullying of him (who is never seen retaliating with magic) doesn't come across as psychotically cruel; Percy would simply be pestered and has enough self-control not to return fire. He didn't seem at all phased during the Battle after the Quidditch World Cup either which means he's at least as ready for a fight as Bill and Charlie.

Then again, I also headcanon that Kingsley Shacklebolt has been Percy's surrogate father figure years before falling away with from his family and was trained by him in DADA.

I completely agree. When I said that Percy was more of a scholar than a warrior, I meant it as in 1. that’s the way his family sees him, and 2. he has different priorities. 

I fully believe that Percy is a skilled duelist. It's so interesting to me when people assume he's not, because we have so much evidence to the contrary. Like you said, he doesn't even hesitate to jump into battles like the one at the Quidditch World Cup, he can accomplish specialized spells (like Human Transfiguration), and he is comfortable enough in his abilities to banter while fighting very dangerous people. All of that points to him being quite talented.  

However, his family is probably never going to consider him a warrior, because - unlike them - he didn't dive head first into joining the Order of the Phoenix when it started up again, and he didn’t fight in the skirmishes along the way to the Final Battle (like the one at Hogwarts in Book 6).

Also, I don’t think Percy wants to be the warrior, but he is willing to be when it’s necessary (and he’s good at it when he does). Compare that to the rest of the Weasleys who seem to thrive on the idea of being the warrior/hero. You can be good at something and not enjoy it, and I think that’s the situation with Percy. He wants to protect the people he loves & fight for what is right; he doesn’t want to be an Auror and do that on a daily basis if he doesn’t have to.

Summary: Percy Weasley takes the magical politics by storm. He becomes one of the youngest Ministers of Magic, but his work is not done—his work is never done. So he still has his hands full, restructuring the Ministry, chasing Death Eaters and trying not to fall out of the grace of the public. It's like balancing a line hung over the abyss, not a big deal—but he's not as alone in the mess as he always thought, because there's also a matter of Oliver Wood.

Percy’s patronus is an ant. When he feels love and support from multiple people, it can become a swarm of ants. But mostly it’s just a really big ass ant, fuelled by his love for Oliver. (Maybe a red ant).

crime that we never got a percy weasley reaction to the fact that his childhood pet which hes probably had for much longer than turned out to be a fucking full grown adult. And nobody asked how he was feeling, like no wonder he left.

Magical Buildings (HP Theory)

I have a theory regarding magical buildings in the Harry Potter universe. This is focused on Hogwarts and the Ministry of Magic specifically.

Basically, when a Headmaster or Minister swears into power, they are given the power of the building. This power allows them to apparate on the property, and create and get rid of rooms, such as classrooms in Hogwarts and offices at the Ministry. Now, what no one knows, or is seen as myth, is that if a Headmaster or Minister is not chosen, the building can choose its own leader, who is given the full powers of the building. 

Part One of the Theory: The Founders. I believe that Hogwarts chose the founders, to be its leader, as the building was magical and needed a leader. The Founders were able to do many things, that Headmasters since have been unable to do or alter. Salazar Slytherin created the Chamber of Secrets, which no one had found or been able to alter since. Rowena Ravenclaw created the moving staircase network, which no one has been able to stop (and I’m sure someone has tried, that has got to get annoying). Helga Hufflepuff created the Room of Requirement. 

Part Two of the Theory: Professor McGonagall as the appointed Headmistress of Hogwarts. This is based off of the movie, as I can’t remember if the events of the book are the same. So, when Snape leaves Hogwarts after the Order arrives, he has effectively abandoned Hogwarts, leaving it without a leader. And so, the school chooses Deputy Headmistress Professor McGonagall to be its new leader. This is why McGonagall is able to manipulate the statues at the school, and, I think, unconsciously create a battle ground within the school that allows for the Light to have an advantage. 

Part Three of the Theory: Percy Weasley as Minister for Magic. Now remember, there is no official title that actually comes with this, it is not a publicly known title. It is just that magically, they are given the powers to control the buildings. So, when the Ministry of Magic building realises that its newest Minister, Pius Thicknesse, is under the imperious curse, the building recognises that it has no standing Minister (as a Minister probably as to be mentally capable). So, the Ministry elects Percy Weasley, who has been loyal to the Ministry, who believes in the capabilities of the Ministry itself, to be its new Minister. So, Percy uses his new powers to create tunnels and rooms within the Ministry, to help Ministry employees hide and escape.
