snuck away to bamfield (small fishing village a few hours north of victoria) for a weekend, squeezed into a wetsuit for the first time (a workout and a half), and ate all the freshest of seafoods.

a lovely and much needed escape from the city <3

American newspapers May 16 1915 report that a demo team thought to be from America tries to land in Bamfield, Vancouver Island, BC in an attempt to cut Pacific cable connecting Vancouver to Australia, the " All Red Line," so called as it was in territory controlled by the British Empire, coloured red on maps.

Canadian military opens fire scaring boat away. Earlier reports told of mysterious boats signaling the shore.
