Fandom Problem #9821:

When your favorite band finally gets a new lead singer after years and years...and they turn out to be, at bare minimum, a born-in Scientologist who was at a 2013 gala for that cult...and who also showed up at the arraignment hearing for someone, also a Scientologist, who was convicted of multiple counts of rape just a year ago. That is all confirmed. And while they have released a statement because of all the scrutiny, all it really says is "I do not condone rape and abuse", and despite half the problem people have being their involvement with the Scientology cult, they said literally nothing to address that. And the subreddit for the band is deadass looking like an astrofarming nightmare mixed with fans in denial who are huffing insane amounts of copium, and anyone even remotely talking about, understandably, still being skeptical is downvoted and heckled. I loved this band since the early 2000s and I cried for weeks after its original (well, not ORIGINAL original) singer passed away after a lifelong struggle with abuse and depression. It's fucked so many people are going "lalala" when the band has just appointed someone with clear ties to a cult that denies the validity of psychology, runs abusive tracks like Sea Org, and routinely abuses its members in all the different ways. People really be letting me down.

Spencer Charnas (Ice Nine Kills)

'Hey, y/n can I talk to you for a second y/n?' Mina, one of your employees asks, popping her head around your office door.

You look up from the paperwork on your desk and nod, 'sure, what's up?'

'Ice Nine Kills are playing in town tomorrow night and I was wondering if I could get off work early to meet up with some friends beforehand,' she answers, her voice getting more excited with each word she spoke.

You had to keep calm and professional, you didn't want any of your employees to find out about your love life. You owned a music shop and a couple of years ago Spencer came in when the band was in town the two of you hit it off, and after a year of being friends, he asked you out. You'd done very well to keep your relationship from becoming public and you like privacy along with Spencer.

You nod and smile, 'of course, you can Mina, you're a hard worker. Now let's close for the night.'

Mina's eyes light up, 'oh my god your the best boss y/n.'

You keep the smile on your face until she leaves the room, and then you let out the breath you'd been holding. Mina didn't need to know Spencer was taking you out to dinner tonight because the band didn't play until tomorrow. Grabbing your coat and bag, you leave your office and lock the door behind you.

'Hello beautiful, miss me?' a familiar male voice startles you as you enter the shop floor.

'Spencer!' you gasp, 'what are you doing here? You can't be here right now.'

Anyone would have found it romantic that their partner surprised them at work, but Mina was still here and you didn't want to get caught.

Spencer walks towards you looking confused, 'are you okay y/n? You look like you've seen a ghost. Now I know you missed me as much as I missed you.'

Before you can respond Spencer kisses you. You kiss him back lost in the moment, because it had been two months since you saw each other in person.

'OH MY GOD!' Mina shouts.

You and Spencer pull apart both looking wide-eyed at one another.

'What's going on here?' Mina enquires.

You turn to face your best employee, 'how good are you at keeping secrets? Because Spencer and I would like to keep this under wraps.'

Mina grins like the Cheshire Cat, 'so you weren't lying about having a boyfriend boss, so Spencer's the best you've ever had.'

You feel your cheeks flush and Spencer smiles smugly, 'I'll take that compliment.'

You shake your head while Spencer and Mina laugh at your expense, 'please keep this secret Mina.'

Mina nods her head, 'okay, on one condition.'

'What's the condition, Mina?' Spencer asks.

'I'd like VIP tickets to the show tomorrow for me and my friends,' Mina replies.

Spencer hums, 'you and your friends can have VIP tickets whenever we come to town. But you can't tell a soul about me and y/n.'

Mina claps her hands together and all but bounces towards the front door, 'thank you, Spencer. Your secret is safe with me lovebirds. Oh and y/n we will be discussing details. Bye.'

Once Mina leaves you hug Spencer, 'she's a good one, we have nothing to worry about.'

Spencer kisses the top of your head, 'so I'm the best you've ever had y/n, I'm flattered.'

You groan, 'you're not going to let that go are you?'

Spencer laughs, 'never. Now we should grab some food because I need to give you stories to tell Mina because the best is yet to come y/n.'

You bury your face in his shoulder, this was going to be an interesting night.
