OK but real talk... do I message Adam saying how much rehearsal sucked without him?
I hate it when we get sub drummers in any band because they go in and mess up the system: tempos are different, count ins are different, vocal charts are worse, and the bassist reaches new heights of confusion (which I didn't think was possible). Sub wind players are easy, but rhythm section is next to impossible for as much to be accomplished at rehearsal with subs.
There are perhaps only three drummers I've gigged with that I consider to be at God tier (Adam is one of them) so I'll admit I have impossibly high standards for drummers, but this sub... I suspect I could play drums better.
With Adam you don't know what ya got 'til it's gone. I don't notice his mistakes because they aren't catastrophic (as in, he doesn't drop beats and create train wrecks for the entire band).
I asked earlier if he was aware that we so desperately need him. And trust me, the confused bassist already informed him. At great length.
