Yeah you’re right it does have a lot of meanings
Idk the context of what expressions are hard for you but if someone says “they were screwing” they probably mean they were having sex. If they say “screw you” it means f-you, if they said “I’m screwed” it means “I’m in deep trouble” or “I’m f-d”
If they just say something on the lines of like construction or something then they are referring to a screw, which is like an iron nail
