Freedom (Fiddleford McGucket)
This is for @banjoscience, I hope you like it : )
It had been two months since Weirdmaggedon, and Gravity Falls was almost unrecognizable. The trees were beautiful, a sea of orange, red and brown surrounding the small town that was nestled in a valley. The locals went about with their schedules, storefronts all decorated for the season. The town felt lighter, no one afraid any longer after the realization they shared their land with the supernatural now accepted. Many, like Gideon, were allotted a second chance, bringing to Gravity Falls amusement ad happiness.
And then there was one special man that deserved a second chance, the frail looking man often found by the lake with his banjo.
Fiddleford McGucket had been through a lot in his lifetime, enough to give the fabled Stan twins a run for their money. However he had remained, for the most part, calm about what life had thrown his way. His ex-wife had been a very negative person, Fiddleford almost glad to take the job his old friend from college had offered. Regret filled his mind when he thought of Tate, but getting away from the negative influence of his wife gave Fiddleford a fresh perspective on things. It had been hard to tell Stanford what had happened, but having a friend there to assure him all was not lost because of her really helped.
He often wondered if it was because of that kindness that Fiddleford was forgiving to many around him, but the good-natured southerner no longer cared. His friend was back, the town now at piece, and he had countless hours to now play his banjo to those who happened to hear him.
He was at peace.
