"Hydraxis" - =bansheebeat=
Sometimes it's refreshing to listen to some homebrew music from aspiring musicians. bansheebeat, or comfynautica under his Tumblr alias, asked me to look at this in his Ask (see previous post). Now this isn't a great representative of his EP as a whole, in fact this is easily the most powerful and most beat-driven of the 4 tracks, but I think this is the best of the lot. Is this ambient? Well, that's questionable. I can tell you it is rather good electronic/IDM (do I detect some chiptune undercurrents?). My only criticism would be that is sounds too electronic; I like things to sound a little more acoustic, but that's only a slight aside. The musical content is good all the same.
Pleasantly surprised.
