One of my new favourite programmes is Current TV's Bar Karma. In this video, the creators, cast and crew discuss the legendary influences from film, television and books that influenced the look and feel of Bar Karma. Look for Easter eggs that reference everything from The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy to The Princess Bride.

I wanna love this show, there is nothing I love more than starting on the ground floor with a show Season 1 Ep 1, nothing but possibilities, I am easy to entertain so come on hook me...when it comes to TV shows I am totally the lazy Tuna looking for a free meal, dangle something shiny and I'll bite I swear. Step 1 accomplished Current TV: the shiny dangly bait the tag line "A guy walks into a bar..." love those dumb jokes all of them, even the one that abruptly ends with Ouch!! (yep definitely chuckled a bit just thinking of that oldy but goody!). I was fully intrigued by the promo and the concept. Haven't we all
strolled into a bar only hoping that when we walked out many hours later that the blinding light was not the Sun of the next morning but in fact the opening to a portal that would take you anywhere but where you left off the night before? (no need to be ashamed, raise your hand its the internet no one can see you). If you don't know the concept of Bar Karmahere it is, at least the part that I dig, Current TV is letting the community "help" with the show, if you go to their website you can submit plot lines, characters, props lots of stuff (oooohhh more shiny dangly bait, love me some Social Media experiments). So I watched, kinda liked it, kinda got confused and mostly wondered WTF did he really kill that chick or is that what would have happened if he didn't leave the confines of our time space continuum??? And what's with Genghis Khan?? And more importantly whats with the TV and the analog static on it?? This place exists on a completely different plane, that can access multiple time periods through out the human time line and yet they still have rabbit ears on the TV??? I don't get it...
