@fortzancudo said: i occasionally wear makeup but my rule for myself is that i don’t like. use foundation n i don’t contour or any of that bc i know the second i start it’s gonna fuck w my self worth if u get me? like i’ll slap some eyeliner on and do some wild eyeshadow bc it’s fun but the second i feel like i wanna get into “hiding imperfections” then it’s not fun any more ygm. idk i guess my advice is HAVE FUN, and remember that makeup on ur eyes are sisters and not twins lmao
i get what u mean about the foundation n shit.. ive only ever had full face makeup once (for prom lmao) and it definitely made a noticeable difference, but it also didnt look like ME so it felt really weird. ill probably give foundation a shot but i doubt it will become an every day thing. itll be a wonder if it ends up being more than a “once in a blue moon” thing LMAO
@barackalicious said: Elf is such a great place to start, so is Rimmel and Hard Candy!! not sure what type of looks u are gearing towards but those three are cheap and consistently good quality :)
@barackalicious said: also I’d say start light for application and go see yourself in natural lighting outside :) the indoor lights can really warp the final product, I tend to do my makeup right by the window or by my ring light
thats great to know!! ive only ever used elf before bc the makeup i was given as a gift was all elf stuff, but ill definitely look into those brands too! and ive heard a LOT how important lighting is, so im gonna have to figure something out cause my room faces away from the sun so the lighting is pretty god awful kjfdsfks
@thundaclap said: Check your undertone via your wrists to get the right foundation! Blue veins means cool undertone, green means warm
GREAT advice omg i was literally just wondering how to figure out the best foundation color for me online!! thank u ♥
@drakaufeu said: elf, rimmel, and nyx are my drug store go-tos! i started using a bb cream before i moved on to foundation/concealer. bb cream is really light and provides a good amount of natural coverage. definitely experiment application with natural light and with a ring light or lamp, sometimes you think a product looks good until you see it in different light. have fun and go ham with it! if it doesn’t turn out the way you like, it comes right off with a makeup wipe so don’t stress
this is great to know! im really coming at this with NO knowledge so im gonna really end up starting from basics... for example i have no fucking clue what bb cream is LMAO
i also am noting the importance of good lighting, so im going to be sure to invest in some kind of ring light or smth
