Read my first Barbara Pym, Excellent Women. I enjoyed it for the most part. There isn't any real plot but I felt like I got to know a lot of the characters & their routines & the times when things seriously jar them, often to the dismay of many. Excellent Women follows 30 something Mildred Lathbury & her quiet & routine life that gets disturbed when a volatile couple moves into a neighboring flat. While there's a good amount of wit & humor, it's not quite a cozy read as there's a slight dark steak that runs through it sometimes. Though I do feel like any book about spinsters during this time period have slightly depressing moments. Which Barbara Pym book should I try next? * #funaekreads #funaekbooks #instabooks #instareads #igreads #barbarapym #excellentwomen #viragomodernclassics #pugsandbooks https://www.instagram.com/p/B5jGy6Gghk1/?igshid=1tcc8o16a58az
