“Burn It To The Ground” Repeating Barbell Complex for Fat Loss and Conditioning
One of the most effective ways to do fat-loss training with free weight is the barbell complex…which is essentially a series of exercises done non-stop using the same barbell. A Peek At What I Want To Write About In the Near Future
First of all thank you for everyone who is reading my blog. :) So I wanted to reflect a bit on the current state of the blog and what I want to write in the blog. The blog itself is growing at a slowish but steady pace which is all good for me due to my time constraints. Back squat PR for triples at 145 pounds. I know it's nothing special, but squats are generally excruciatingly slow and painstakingly earned for me, so I want to celebrate them. I also PR'ed my hip thrust at 175 pounds. Also, knee sleeves are awesome, I don't know why I waited so long to try them. Now I just need a second one because I didn't realize they only come one to a package.
Deadlifts again today and I definitely PR’ed. Warm-up went like this 1x8 at 85#, 1x6 at 135#, 1x4 at 155#, 1x3 at 175# and then hit a solid 3x3 at 180 pounds, supersetted with some arnold presses. Plus I PR’ed my chin-ups: 5x5 with a 12.5 pound chain around my shoulders.
I didn’t sleep well last night, so this came as a pleasant surprise. Plus, my new protein powder actually tastes a bit like peanut butter instead of damn sucralose.
My last one rep max deadlift was 185 pounds. I’m fairly certain I’ll smash it at the meet in April.
Deadlifts have been a struggle recently and I think I finally figured out why. In playing with my set up, I've set my back into more of a Romanian deadlift. Which would explain why my right lat keeps getting sore. Anyway, I'm going to have to work on fixing that. I pulled triples yesterday at 175. It's been awhile since I've pulled triples, but I'm fairly certain that's a PR. Currently weighing in between 106 & 107, I think I'm going to try to compete at the 105 weight class next month. Blah, I'm nervous.
