Weekend vibes❤️
205 back squat baby💪😤 there’s room for improvement with the shakiness but hopefully I can double in six more months haha
I just want you guys to know… we did the fucking thing. I told my friend before I did my PR retest, “it may be a little unrealistic but I want to hit 200.”
Well, turns out it wasn’t that unrealistic. It was a 15lb Increase in my PR and then hit my 200🥰
Despite the whole algebra debacle, this weekend was actually quite fruitful. We did lots of things that have been on my want-to-do list for awhile. Friday afternoon, I helped A make fresh lemonade from lemons we picked. Friday night I visited my mom who I hadn't seen since Christmas. I brought the three youngest and they had a great time.
When I got home, husband and I had a long talk about how to handle the times after his periods of emotional dysregulation. He was really receptive to what I had to say and immediately went about doing what I needed. I know that this is a conversation we will probably have to repeat for the rest of our lives, but I'm willing to keep giving him reminders if he's willing to keep making the effort.
On Saturday morning, I went on a 12 mile run. I've done several 11 milers and one 13 miler, but never 12, so that was a nice little PR. Husband went to pick up our niece and nephew from his brother and we had them over for the night for the first time ever. The kids all seemed to have a good time. I've been wanting to take them to the trampoline park, but it was sold out for the whole afternoon, so we pivoted to Dave & Busters.
We picked up doughnuts in the morning and it was kind of hilarious because power was out at the doughnut shop and no one had come in for quite some time. The ladies recognized my husband and sent him home with four dozen doughnuts. Fortunately, I was able to bring them to church, where we went to mass and then packed lunches to give to some of the unhoused people living downtown.
The rest of the day was mostly chores and schoolwork, but it set us up for a really smooth transition into the week. I took a long overdue rest day on Sunday and then on Monday was able to hit 150 for sets of 5 on back squats, which is both a pr, and another triumph past that mental hurdle of 150.
So as per usual, things are crazy, but also pretty good. I have some observations about my experience with concurrent training that I want to write down, but for now errands beckon.
