Watched Beauty Inside a Box’s Holiday Barbie video and he really disliked this one. 2020 Holiday Barbie could’ve represented the weird year we had. My idea, a fancy nightgown in gold, comfy reindeer slippers, and pull a Princess Margaret in the tub with a glam updo, simple makeup and a giant tiara to round it out. She may not be able to go to a bunch of parties but she’s gonna look fabulous dammit!

I wanted to keep her mature looking but since she’s a nymph I don’t expect her to look aged in any way. I also removed her wings from her original design, since I don’t believe spirits need wings to fly

She grows beautifully and as healthy as a tree ❤️

Mariposa & Henna redesigns (Ok, now I want to draw them kissing hsjhsdhjsh)

I made Henna a little bit more sophisticated in this design; I really wanted to convey the feeling that she does actually work at the royal court, so I added some gloves, replaced shoes with boots, made the dress' cut more formal, and added a neck bow instead of a scarf. I also made her skin tone to be on a more cooler and paler side (because I really like how it contrast with Mariposa's in my version), and added a few beauty marks — on her right elbow, on the right side of her face just above the jawline, on her left shoulder, and just above her left ankle. Her makeup is mostly unchanged, but I made sure to make it more vibrant and dramatic, especially around the eyes. I didn't really change the hairstyle either, so it remains mostly untouched, save for the butterfly embellishment on her headband, which I removed. The wings are more detailed, with some extra patterns and lines. The color scheme is reminiscent of the original, but it is a touch darker, with more of navy blue and deep purple parts. She also has a handbag for essentials in the ref, which is optional, but I feel like it just adds to that look of the Queen's busy attendant that she is.

Mariposa's outfit is also a little darker than the original, though not to the extent that Henna's is. This trend is mostly seen in the accents on her outfit — the headband, hems of the skirt and the bodice, shoes, and some parts of the sleeves. Her skin is tan with a warm undertone and freckles. I also tried to stay true to her original makeup — because it's absolutely iconic and exceptionally pretty. The cut of her dress is very reminiscent of the original one, but some changes were made to the butterfly embroidery on her bodice — I made it larger and less complicated (for the sake of my own convenience, when I'll have to replicate it again) — so now it consists of only two butterflies, one blue and one purple — and the sleeves, which are now longer and puffy, made out of pink tulle with tight tricoloured cuffs (again, contrasts; Henna has short off-shoulder sleeves, whereas Mariposa's are long and fully cover her arms). Her hairstyle remains mostly the same —except for the aforementioned headband, which is now a ribbon instead of a flower crown — as well as her wings.

Barbie Girl: Clara

A new series I’m starting! basically just characters from the barbie movies in street style stuff. I’m gonna be messing with the characters appearances to suit their story or just because I feel like it. The only cannon “barbie” trait I’ll keep every time will be the blonde hair(because bleach or wigs exist lol).
