Final dress reveal! I am so so happy with how this turned out. I actually can't believe its finally done. I did the math and the very loose probably lowball estimate of how much time it took to finish all the layers of this dress is 470 hours which just blows my mind.

As a final step I did whip together a mini stomacher so I can actually wear the skirts over the corset like its supposed to be. I wanted it to look similar enough to the corset so it'll blend in and look similar to the original princess and the pauper dress.

When i say the difference this makes to the comfort of the gown is astounding believe it. Historical dresses are made this way for a reason so im glad i had enough time to make the stomacher so I can actually wear the gown in the correct order.

I'll be sharing more photos of the dress actually being worn from renfaire eventually, as well as my friends princess gown that she made and my sisters costume that I made for this year as well!

Petticoat is finished! Two more skirt layers are in progress and close to being finished as well. Im super excited to finally see all of this coming together!

Im working on my sisters renfaire costume for this year as well as my own. She wants to go as Bibble from Mertopia the barbie movie since the rest of the group is barbie themed and this is what we have so far.

(She's smaller than me so ignore the fact it doesnt zip up all the way on my mannequin) The corset top I made years ago and its being rightfully repurposed for this costume. And the skirt pieces are all that I have left of the same fabric. The skirt might change a little bit before I hand stitch everything down, everything's still in the pin and play stage but im really loving how it looks so far.

We also picked up some pinkish fur fabric to use as the dots since it was a more neutral tone compared to the neon purple options at the store. Less accurate to the character but I think it'll look better over all.

And im going to use some white sheer scrap material to make some pretty floating wings on the back.
