FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Vitamin C and AHA Serums from Bare Better
Better beauty.
Better business.
Better future.
Bare Better was inspired by the concept of never settling for 'just good'; always striving for better, and it launched its flagship line of serums just last September 10. Yes, this very trying year of 2020!
The serums, fondly called 'The Betters', come in six (6) variants that target specific skin concerns. Each retails at only 220php. And did I mention they're locally made? Totally a plus!
With the constant stress-induced breakouts due to the ongoing pandemic, I was just so ready to try their AHA serum. Bought it together with a bottle of their Vitamin C serum. I plan to use the latter in the morning to target the marks that previous blemishes have left, then let the AHA serum work its magic at night.
If you've ever come across The Ordinary products, you'll perhaps find Bare Better's minimalistic, no-fuss packaging quite similar.
The products, both the AHA and Vitamin C serums, smell like baby powder. I like it a lot; it's not overpowering, but those who are sensitive to scents may find it off putting.
The serum itself is light, watery and easily absorbed into the skin, so if your skin type is oily like mine, you may still apply a lightweight or water-based moisturiser. I use aloe vera, and I've been told by one of Bare Better's distributors that the serums don't really clash with aloe.
I've just begun using the serums today. So far, no rashes or other adverse effects to be felt, which is always good.
I like that it smells good, it's fairly cheap (at 220php/bottle), and it doesn't feel as thick or heavy on the face when applied. Easily the best part for me though is that it's Philippine-made! #SupportLocal
Here's to hoping I've finally found what's 'better' for me!
