Dream: Team Battle
I dreamed i was in a spacious and austere abandoned theater. It was evening and i was playing a game similar to capture the flag, with strangers. The other team were mostly off-duty military men. I crept stealthily thru the wings, prop warehouses, basements. I dashed away from pursuing opponents and hid in empty shipping containers. We competed in a interminable environment of dusty, bare wood, various empty boxes, discarded papers and unfinished carpentry. I stole into deeper subbasements in a attempt to get to the other team's base undetected. Descending a deep stairwell with no railing, i encountered a opponent, a woman wearing a flowing sari and a topknot. I had seen her previously on Youtube. We fought, and she fell off the stairs, a lethal height. I knew this was a dream, and was very glad she wasn't really injured. But i discovered that, within the dream, we were in a video game or virtual reality. I hadn't known that.
I explored the dusty rooms in contemplative silence for some time. Descending another narrow stair to a subbasement deeper than i thought possible, i landed in a room lit by a bare incandescent bulb, with holes in the ceiling revealing very high shafts. I saw that this must be the ultimate terminus of the building's freight elevators. One elevator began descending from high above. I stepped out of the way and out emerged the woman i had knocked down the stairwell. She was unhurt, like when in a movie a character is revealed to be still alive but the details are unclear. Altho we were opponents, we spoke. We were so far underground that the other players had forgotten us. We then rode the elevator up one stop.
