I’ve been meaning to draw these two for a while now. Thanks @starsscarmyceiling for writing one of my fave AUs (coffee shop) and a great first chapter.

Use foam art (or marshmallows!) to draw sigils and symbols in your hot drinks.

Barista Job Spell jar
This is a jar I made for myself in pursuit of a long term job/career at a coffee shop. Please note, I have a lot of experience in barista work so this spell was made in attempt to find a perfect job for myself. Bottom is coffee grounds for Energy and Confidence Middle is Cocoa, for prosperity and money
Top is Cinnamon for wealth and wisdom, and sugar for positive attention I sprinkled in just a little more coffee and sealed it. I wrote sigils on a green candle (I also later sealed it with a white candle I blessed during the eclipse, just for a good extra kick!) and used it to seal everything into place. Wear it around while you job hunt and charge it as needed! I also loved stashing it under my clothes while I interviewed. One good thing I also found is that when I was getting anxious, I held it to my lips and pictured what my goal job would be like, to give the jar good thoughts and energy. It really helped calm me down and get back to it!
My personal results were so good, I got what I could only describe as a DREAM job. Please feel free to make your own and change it for your desired job and please let me know!
Barista / Kitchen Witch Tip:
Give your pour-over coffee that extra kick in the morning by drawing sigils in your coffee grounds as you pour your water!
The morning cuppa of a barista witch.
Make sure you know your herbs before straying from pre mixes.
The Magic of Chai
TheBaristaWitch’s guide to the magic of chai
For all you Kitchen Witches and Barista Witches out there (I know I can’t be the only one), I thought I would put together a little post about the delicious cup of wonder that is chai.
The Magickal Properties of the Spices
Chai is full of so many herbs and spices that aid with protection and prosperity, I find it’s a great every day drink. And, if needed, it’s easy to add different things depending on what kind of boost you need that day. But for now, we’ll stick with the traditional.
The base of chai is Black Tea, which is used for prosperity, strength and fortitude.
Orange Zest- Oranges have many uses, and the peel is good for luck, divination, love, money and home & business blessing.
Ginger- My love affair with ginger is never ending. Ginger draws adventure and new experiences, as well as prompting self-confidence, prosperity and success. Ginger adds to the strength and speed of any mixture you add it to.
Cinnamon- Cinnamon is great for strength, protection, power and success as well as love, luck and prosperity. If I didn’t enjoy eating it so much, I’d use it as incense all the time.
Cardamom- Cardamom promotes love and fidelity, with a dash of lust in there too.
Star Anise- Promotes psychic abilities, awareness and brings power.
Cloves- Also great for protection, money, love and exorcism.
Black Pepper- Black pepper is a strong banishing spice. It will protect you from evil and aids in exorcism.
Nutmeg- Nutmeg attracts money and prosperity, brings luck and protection and can also help increase the intellect.
Vanilla- Vanilla beans are great for restoring lost energy, increasing energy and strengthening mental abilities.
Sweetening Your Chai
There are many sweeteners out in the world (my favorite being honey), so I’ve narrowed it down to my favorite four. Sweeten with whatever you feel is best.
Sugar (white/regular)- Sugar and sugar cane are used to “sweeten” up a situation, and for love, lust and sympathy.
Brown Sugar- See Sugar
Honey- Honey also has the same properties as sugar, but can also be used to hold things together. Attraction and binding are two other properties of honey.
Stevia- Though the magical uses of stevia are not known, it’s a good healthy alternative to sugars.
Choosing your milk
Different milks also hold different magical properties.
Cows Milk- Associated with power and success
Soy Milk- Associated with success in jobs
Coconut Milk- Associated with protection and spiritual cleansing.
Goats Milk- Associated with power and success
Suggested Additions
If you find you need an extra boost of protection and repelling negativity, add a dash of cayenne pepper. Cayenne also speeds up the effects of whatever it’s added to.
For an extra boost of nurturing, power and friendship, add some cocoa powder.
Feel free to add your own findings to this post!
