How flattering! My blog is referenced as a source on this article about the haunting 1940s and 50s actress Lizabeth Scott. In case you’re unfamiliar with the raspy-voiced, smoky-eyed Scott, she was the thinking man’s Lauren Bacall, turned in some mesmerising performances in key films noirs, and then abruptly retired in the mid-1950s when the salacious Confidential Magazine “outed” her in a lesbian sex scandal piece. Scott is still alive (in her 90s), virtually never gives interviews and when she does, the scandal and her personal life are strictly off-limits. She’s taking some fascinating secrets to the grave! This is the particular blog entry I did where I write about Scott (scroll down!). I love this stark, intriguingly butch portrait of Lizabeth Scott (and the safety pin makes a nice punk statement).
