OKAY so. too many died to keep track of so i’ll just do top 5.
5: Groot
Listen. He faded away like the rest but it was slow and Rocket had time to realize what was going on and his reaction broke my heart??? he’s had to live through Groot’s death twice now and frankly i don’t want this. groot was just a teenager :(((
4: Loki
uh yeah this one rattled me a bit. for one, i wasn’t expecting it, AT ALL, he was the first one to go and while i’m not a Loki Fangirl™ he has grown on me a lot throughout the years and even though he’s also died before, i still teared up a little
3: Vision
I’m specifically talking about his first death here (i cannot believe they killed him twice i was so sure he wasn’t gonna die at all) but uh!!!! that was cruel and unusual!!!! the fact that wanda was the one to kill him just drove a knife into my heart god that was sad.
2: Gamora
SPEAKING OF CRUEL AND UNUSUAL
god this scene. i grew to love gamora over the course of this film (i still haven’t seen gotg2) so like, i was rather furiously sad when she died. FUCK YOU THANOS. god did they have to do a close up on her face as she was falling?? did they??? this was the Second Time i teared up watching this movie.
1: Peter Parker.
fuck!!!! fuck!!!!! hands down the worst one!!!!!!!
don’t talk to me about “mr stark? i don’t feel so good” and then tony’s look of dawning dread as he realizes the universe is about to take peter, too. especially don’t talk to me about peter clinging desperately to tony, even as his hands start disintegrating, begging not to go. if you even breathe in my direction while thinking about peter’s ‘i’m sorry’ before disintegrating and then tony hugging his dust-covered hand close, i’ll probably start crying.
special shoutout to bucky barnes for breaking my heart with a single word “steve?” and t’challa’s “this is no place to die”. also fuck this movie thanks for coming to my ted talk
