Eat or Fuck: Barney Bubble from Yoshi's Island

A Barney Bubble's behavior involves it quickly running back and forth. A Yoshi cannot eat a Barney Bubble, and they can defeat it only by throwing an egg at it. Whenever a Barney Bubble is stomped on, it produces bubbles
Normally I wouldn’t make this kind of post, but... what? Apparently Geno 64 and Barney Bubble are too hot for this site, and it seems the closeups of Bowser’s Keep were just too spicy. I guess that’s what I get for not putting pants on any of them.
hey so i had a mental breakdown today and i calmed down by doodling yoshi’s island characters bc they’re cute and easy to draw and i enjoyed it
Part of Barney Bubble’s charm is its goofy little walk that it does. I figured I would take a shot at it. If you were thinking “that doesn’t look like a very efficient walk”, you would be correct. They barely cover any ground with each step, so they compensate by moving their feet very, very fast.

This little guy hails from the jungles of Yoshi's Island. With its goofy face, rubber body, and ability to blow bubbles, Barney Bubble is one of my favorite Yoshi enemies ever. I was a bit disappointed when he didn't return for Yoshi's New Island, but at least that means I could make one of my own. In order to capture the same cartoonish expression, I rigged his eyes separate from the body so that they could rotate around. The white version on the right is based on the colors used in the official artwork.
Here is a happy little Barney Bubble blowing bubbles. Looks a bit different than before, doesn’t he? That’s because I can’t really get away with moving his face in a 3D rotation like I can with the still image. Only Sonic characters can pull off that kind of side-mouth and still look good.
The last art stream I had (#4). I’ll do more in the future, but just not right now kek. How many people can guess who each character is? (Character with red outline is Rocket who is @sketchi-980 ‘s character.)

Ignoring that fact, Barney Bubble is... really good. They’re just orbs with feet. They’ve also got the great kissy lips that always mean a yes from me (their German name is even derived from “smooch”)!
If you step on them, they’ll make bubbles that Yoshi can eat. Probably tastes like soap. And that’s all they’re there for- they only show up in one section of one stage. Godspeed, Barney Bubble, your contributions to enemy-kind will always be appreciated by us.
