Ahhh today was good :)

I fed and took care of Joey and Finn (the flies are horrible on them), and did some ground work with Banks (he might have his wolf teeth so we’re waiting on the vet to start riding him again). MAJOR break through with him, I figured out his lunging problems were because he didn’t like me being on his right side. So, I worked on leading from that side and pivots on the forehand and haunches using cues like you would in the saddle. By the end he was more comfortable with the whip and lunging!

Then B showed up and I got to work Ruby. She was suuper rough, but I sort of dug her trot. We got to play around on the poles a little bit, which was weird because she’d never actually done poles and kept trying to turn them instead of weave. She was still off at the trot, which sucked, but it was expected.

J came to trim Koda and his pasture-mates, it was nearly perfect timing, even though Koda had pancaked instead of growing down, so there wasn’t much to trim.

Then I did a lesson with B (and M!) and Koda was nearly flawless. We had, like a 30 minute lesson because the only problem we had (Koda coming off the back side of the barrel really oddly) was solved because he actually started pivoting on that inside hind!

M and I are going to try to go to a race Friday, but the only one I could find was 3-4 hours away, and the truck definitely wouldn’t make that trip... So we’ll see, but probably a no go. Sunday might be possible though!
