#JackedKirby - The Night of the Demon! 👿👿👿 There are quite a few spooky tales in the Demon series from Jack & Mike Royer, but only one was released in October and bears the issue number 13!!! #Issue13 was published in October of 1973 and is entitled “The Night of the Demon”... and it’s a doozy! 💥💥💥 Etrigan is battling Baron von Rakenstein (Evilstein) and his assistant Igor and he accidentally sets a fire to his castle lair... which releases many of Evilstein’s chemical creation monsters!!! The issue is packed with some creepy creatures and is visually gorgeous... but it’s the opening 3 pages that really drive it home. 💥💥💥 Jack opens with a huge vertical splash, with the Demon in all his hellfire glory surrounded by flames and destruction!!! This is followed by an insane double splash page, loaded with so much detail it’s scary! The Baron, Igor and The Demon all are done impeccably, but the glass enclosed specimens and the skeleton are my two favorite aspects of this splash!
