LAMB CHOP, JASON COSTELLO & BART MCQUEEN in HOLLYOAKS | 23.03.11
Favourite Hollyoaks otp moments: ↳Bart confessing he still loves Jason and kissing him, when they are trapped, whilst Sinead overhears them through the window.
Hollyoaks: The End Of CleoJ?
Night Night, Nathan...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (13th-17th February 2017)
Another week, another death, with poor Nathan Nightingale becoming the latest character to shuffle off this mortal coil, or to be more precise, take a tumble off some scaffolding. Nathan’s week didn’t get off to the best of starts when he discovered the truth about Lisa and Mac’s affair, just moments after he’d proposed to her. As a shocked Nathan walked in on the pair in a compromising position, an argument broke out and Nathan ended up falling through the window and off the scaffolding outside.
Nathan’s death annoyed me for a few reasons. One - it’s yet another good character being killed off. Two - it’s being used to prolong Lisa and Mac’s affair, a story which is absolutely pants and three - it’s yet more misery for poor Cleo. Please, Hollyoaks, let’s not have her as the next Maxine AKA, the eternal victim. One good thing we got from this story this week, though, was Mac’s true colours beginning to shine through. When James arrived at The Dog after hearing about his Brother’s death, he was treated to an angry outburst courtesy of Mac, horrifying the rest of the family. Mask starting to slip, Mac?
It was ‘goodbye’ to one McQueen and ‘hello’ to another as Celine was laid to rest and Myra gave birth to her baby. That wasn’t the only McQueen drama we were treated too though as two familiar faces in the shape of Nana and Bart returned for the funeral. It seems nothing much has changed with Bart and Cleo quickly chucked him out when she discovered he’d been taking drugs! After the funeral, and with a little encouragement from Nana, Cleo decided to tell Nathan once and for all how she felt about him but unfortunately him going splat on the Dog car park put an end to that plan. It really wasn’t Cleo’s week...
Meanwhile, Sally was feeling guilty about not being there for Myra when John Paul was growing up and so offered to help raise her new baby. Sally was by Myra’s side as she went into labour after the funeral but Mercedes made her Mum see that Diego was who she really wanted to be with, leaving Sally heartbroken. Myra gave birth to a baby girl and in true McQueen fashion, the baby has been given a ridiculous name. Meet ‘Carmina Celeste McQueen’, a mash-up of the names of various dead McQueen’s!
With Diego and Myra seemingly back together, Frankie was left seething. Where did that leave her? I refuse to believe that anyone could be as stupid as Frankie was this week. Up until last week, she’d barely said two words to Diego but now she’s acting like he’s the love of her life and she’s genuinely surprised that he’s gone back to the Mother of his new child. Proving herself to be gullible as well as stupid, Frankie was quick to swallow Diego’s lies about how much she meant to him and the little scam he’s clearly got planned seemed to be back on.
Finally, John Paul and Nancy were horrified when they received letters informing them that Finn was due a parole hearing. With some help from Ste, John Paul prepared a victim statement to present at the hearing however he was left annoyed when James tried to ‘edit’ it with a load of ‘buzzwords’ that would ensure Finn never saw the light of day again. Not one to be put off, James soon came up with another way to help John Paul and decided to represent Finn himself, clearly hoping to sabotage the case from the inside! Meanwhile, Tony was confused to discover his and Diane’s joint account was short of money and upon confronting her, was shocked to discover she’d been using the money to get Finn legal representation. Tony’s shock at his wife’s antics of course meant that he had to spend a night on the sofa, even though he’s done absolutely nothing wrong...
5 Things We Learnt This Week:
1. Having morals makes you such a boring person, according to Marnie.
2. Lock up your young priests when Nana’s about...
3. Labour makes you require an extraordinary amount of crisps and fizzy drinks.
4. Most men in Hollyoaks would kill to be with Frankie, don’t you know?
5. Where does Scott see himself in the future? Cooking a leg of lamb on a Sunday whilst John Paul jet washes the drive, of course!
One Last Thing:
Scott, you’re great, but what is this monstrosity?!
