Blanket Forts & Sugary Sweets
(pre-serum!steve x bucky) Steve and Bucky are walking side by side on the sidewalk. Their hands brushing against each other, Steve can't help but smile at Bucky's touch. Bucky reached for Steve's hand, a cheeky grin on his face as he eyes the old bakery store he used to work at. "Steve? You wouldn't mind if I made a stop at the bakery would you?" asked Bucky. "I wouldn't mind at all, Buck. I'll see you back at the apartment?" said Steve, with a small smile. "Don't do anything stupid until I get back." said Bucky. "Jerk." "Punk." Bucky kissed Steve's cheek before heading down to the bakery. Steve shook his head and stuffed his hands into his jacket pockets before heading down the sidewalk. He continued on his way towards his apartment, kicking the small pebbles against the concrete. Steve reached into his pocket, hoping to find the apartment key. But alas, it wasn't there. Steve sighed before moving the piece of brick, revealing a spare key. Usually Bucky hid his key there, on the grounds of, 'Steve always loses his key, I'll just leave mine here.' Steve shook his head as he opened the door, placing the key in his jacket pocket. He took a glance at the living room size, it wasn't an average living room size. but it was good enough for him. Steve took a seat on the couch, waiting for Bucky, who presumably was coming back with sweets. He wanted to do something special for Bucky, maybe make a blanket fort like they did as kids. A smile grew on his face as he got to work. About 30 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. Steve crawled out of the fort and went to the door. Through the peephole he saw Bucky, carrying a box in his hands. Steve opened the door. "Didn't think I'd notice you use my key would you, punk?" said Bucky, as he stepped beside Steve. Steve smiled and shrugged his shoulders while closing the door. As he turned, Bucky froze in his tracks. "Did you-? Did you make that?" asked Bucky. "Yeah I did. I wanted to surprise you." said Steve, ignoring the redness on his cheeks. Bucky turned to Steve and kissed his cheek. "Thanks Stevie. It's just what we had when we were kids." said Bucky, as he entered the fort. "What'd you get from the bakery?" asked Steve, trying to ignore the delectable aroma that was glued to the box. "I got your favorite. The ones that are coated in sugar." said Bucky, a cheeky grin on his face. Steve smiled as he entered the fort, inside Bucky was digging through the box. Sugar all over his face, as if he wasn't eating Steve's favorite pastry. "You got more than one right, jerk?" asked Steve as he took a seat next to him. Bucky nodded as he handed him the box, Steve carefully took another sugar coated pastry. Sugar coated Steve's fingers as he ate the pastry. Steve laughed as he turned to Bucky, sugar still all over his face. "What?" asked Bucky, as he stuffed the last bit of the pastry in his mouth. "You got sugar all over your face, Buck." said Steve, a small smile on his face. As Steve reached for the napkin, Bucky stopped him. It was silent, Bucky's hand was on top of Steve's. "Something wrong, Bucky?" asked Steve, shyly. "No, nothing's wrong. Why waste napkins? I have something better in mind." said Bucky, a cheeky grin on his face. Bucky leaned in, and pressed his lips to Steve's, catching him off guard. The kiss was sweet, not to mention all the sugar that would be on Steve's face. Bucky pulled away from Steve, a smirk on his face, as most of the sugar glistened on Steve's face. "Bucky! Look what you've done. Now I got sugar all over my face!" said Steve with a smile. How could he be angry at Bucky for that? "I was just exchanging some sugar with you." said Bucky with an added chuckle. Steve smiled and shook his head before reaching back into the pastry box. Pulling out another sugary treat, he scooted closer to Bucky. Instinctively, Bucky's arm latched around Steve's waist bringing him closer. "I'm with you till the end of the line, punk." Bucky whispered into Steve's ear, before placing his lips on Steve's cheek. "Same to you, jerk." said Steve with a smile. ~~~~~~~the end~~~~~~~
