First example of actual forward thinking feminism I've seen since basedmom. "Women need to have the freedom to fail just like men. Women need to be seen overcoming obstacles, just like men. Girls tend to take failure harder than boys do, and also are more likely to give up after failure. We need strong, female characters who will inspire girls to overcome obstacles with their agency. That we are not producing them in the media is a testament to continued cultural sexism. That the only articles I could find on this topic unanimously fawned over Rey’s awesomeness as a strong character is a crime! We’re dropping the ball on this one. We are not understanding what girls and women need to help them excel, we are only indulging in infantile wish fulfillment."

Here's the hardball of it. If you believe that feminism is simply gender equality, you need to readily accept Christina Hoff Sommers as a feminist. If you employ no true Scotsman on Sommers, saying she isn't a real feminist, then you are admitting that your sick twisted version of feminism is NOT GENDER EQUALITY. When you disown equity feminists, then you're left with everything but equity.

Christina Hoff Sommers believes:

Men and women deserve equal rights and treatment.

Men and women are both deserving of dignity and respect.

Men and women should both be held equally accountable for dishonesty and harmful behavior.

Neither masculinity nor femininity deserve to be attacked.

Somehow something in that list makes her "anti-feminist" according to many self-proclaimed feminists.  Are we still not seeing a problem with modern mainstream feminism?
