Clan Sunsharp's doctor, a strangely soothing presence despite his diseased appearance.

BASEER Doctor friendly, spontaneous, empathetic. About: Those who meet him for the first time are initially put off. This is the dragon who’s supposed to heal us? He barely looks well enough to take care of himself, much less run an entire ward. Skeptics are quickly proven wrong, as Baseer has a talent for putting even the most grievously ill and injured back on their feet. The rotclaw parasite fused to his body does little to comfort his patients, but he does his best to offset this with a tender heart and a warm personality.

Baseer takes the stigma in stride, joking with his patients that he’s “past his expiration date” himself, and feels a closer kinship with the sick than the healthy. He has a strangely soothing effect on the terminally ill and injured, aiding their passage into the beyond with his calm and easygoing presence. In a clan where power and strength governs their doctrine, Baseer is a much needed reminder that even the strong must rest, and even the mighty will someday die.

Origins: Born deformed and sickly, Baseer wasn’t supposed to survive to adulthood, and his birth clan cast their hatchling out into the Scarred Wasteland to succumb or survive. Either by bad luck or divine intervention, a rotclaw parasite took hold of his body before he could perish, and it carried him miles and miles into the Sunbeam Ruins. Clan Sunsharp took him in and nursed him back to health, but even the best medical minds in the clan concluded that he and the parasite had become inextricable - to remove it from his body would kill him.

Over time, he has learned to live in symbiosis with the rotclaw. Baseer took up an apprenticeship with Reanna in the medical ward, and eventually replaced her as the clan’s head doctor once she resigned her post to join the Vanguard on the front lines. The parasite gives him difficulty sometimes, but he accommodates it like one would any chronic illness, and even credits it with his ability to push through long, tiring shifts in the ward.
