Miami’s best neon lights for your Instagram feed
A vibe that many people crave for their Instagram feed is that of color. Basement Miami is full of neon lights, music and fun. Located at 2901 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, FL, Basement Miami offers extravagant photo-ops for those that are lucky enough to find it.
Located in the basement of The Miami Beach EDITION hotel, Basement Miami is a club that doubles as an ice skating rink and a bowling alley. Perfect for fun photography, the basement has all kinds of neon signs with dramatic quotes that are perfect for an Instagram caption. While packed during the weekends and past 8 p.m., Basement Miami is not too busy during the weekdays. This gives you plenty of time to get a picture without any photo-bombers.
The bowling alley from Monday-Sunday is $50 plus tax with a service charge per lane per hour for the first four people, which includes the shoe rental. The ice skating rink is $25 plus tax per person per half hour, which includes the skate rental. While these rates may seem a bit pricey, I found that the only thing I really had to pay for was the $5 parking outside of the hotel. Once you are in Basement Miami you can still manage to get a nice picture without actually skating on the rink or bowling.
The bowling alley has four lanes with the repeating colors of pink, purple, blue, green and yellow scanning up and down the lanes. Many people will quickly jump in the middle for a quick photo or Instagram boomerang. The quote “What if this is all real?” in neon blue is reflected by the black wall, giving the illusion that the bowling alley is actually a lot bigger. The bowling alley is a great way for those over 21 to celebrate an event while instagramming the entire thing since it is located right next to a bar.

The mini ice skating rink has places to sit while you try taking the perfect picture for your best friend. With two neon signs – one saying “I had too much to dream last night” and the other saying “P.s. I still love you” – you have many different options for the type of picture you can take. All four walls are draped with white flowy cloth, giving off the impression of a soft and peaceful place. Don’t be worried over taking the same picture as your best friend; the neon lights in the rink are constantly changing colors and it is incredibly difficult to take the same picture twice.

If you want a picture with your friends and can’t find anyone to take it for you, don’t fret! Right next to the bar located next to the bowling alley there is a photo booth that sends pictures directly to your phone with the Basement logo plastered on the bottom left corner. Below, you will see a picture of me and my best friend Emily Ruiz trying it out.

“My favorite thing about Basement Miami is that it looks super cool in every single picture,” Emily said. “Plus, you can really choose the picture that best fits your Instagram feed because there are so many different colors shooting out from the lights.”
Altogether, Basement Miami is a great location for your Instagram to thrive. Located in a hotel that is beautiful on its own, Basement Miami has much potential with many different colors and fun activities. Below I have attached the picture I posted on my Instagram account. The different hues of pink and blue were perfect for me and I didn’t even need to spend any money in the rink! I simply stood right outside and still achieved the picture I wanted. It was perfect for the Miami Instagram aesthetic that I am shooting for.
