I have an idea for something that could’ve happened in the basement scene.
Billy could have felt that Ralph(Peter) had something repressed within him. Ralph has no idea of this and Billy asks to see inside his mind. When Billy does, he feels Peter’s memories and tries to bring them back to him. It succeeds and Peter remembers his time as an X-Man. They then work to find the book and Peter helps in the final battle.
If Peter didn’t use his powers in the basement scene then marvel needs to release the scene. Show us, Marvel, Show us.
