Summary:
In the imperial palace, a surgery has gone terribly wrong. Typically they would call Luomen to investigate, but Lihua was on the verge of giving birth to her second son; calling him in to examine a cadaver was untenable.
“A palace full of this nation’s brightest scholars, and yet we have a shortage of doctors,” Jinshi muttered. They needed someone with medical experience, but without connections to the surgeons. Basen could feel his father’s eyes boring a hole into his head. “I think I know someone who could help,” Basen said begrudgingly. He just hoped he wouldn't regret letting the cat in.
