Strangers ahead!
-Sonic was walking around the place, jungles and canyons all around. Usually he was on his own, mainly because he was just getting ajusted to his new teammates, so being on his own was something he did most of the time. As he walked he heard a noise, footsteps really. Not sure of who they belonged to, he took a defensive stand. Ready to knock the air out of any enemy they could be.-
"Who's there? 'cause 'm not afraid to kick ya in the face, y'know."
"Manik, have you umm, seen Sonia around lately? I..uhhh, need to ask her something."
Manik chuckled. Oh man, it wasn’t hard to assume what exactly it was Skye had to ask. "Oooh~ And what do you have to ask her, Skye~?" He teased, poking fun at his two -tailed friend."Is it…important~?"
Shrugs away.
"Well last time you tried to climb the castle walls, the guards got pretty angry…I don’t think we should repeat that."
"But this time will be different. I swear we won't get caught. I practiced my running skills, so I won't fall off and land on the guards like last time."
"I refuse."
Nudge-nudge.
"Come on Skye! It’ll be fun! I promise."
Skye had felt the wind pick up before he could hear the loud excitement of his friends voice echoing from the walls of the castle and to outside. No doubt, he probably wasn’t the only one that heard it. It was amazing really, to be friends with Manik. Though others would not agree with him… Manik, was a bit on the loud and hyper side, but someone of a true and loyal friend Skye had always been looking for. He would always stop to listen to him, which came off a bit odd, but it happened.
The fox squinted his eyes shut as strong wind blew straight into his face from the royal hedgehog passing by. In fact, he stumbled back a bit from the strength of it alone. Chaos, how does he run so fast without running into anything? He could barely practice his flying maneuvers without running into at least something.
So caught up on the thought of keeping himself planted on his feet, and despite anticipating what Manik was about to do, he still felt himself face plant into the ground from Manik himself.
“Oof,” he huffed out, but managing a small laugh, flailing out his arms in front of him to the best of his ability, “get off me you big doof!”
It was indeed strange to ever believe such two different individuals were capable of being anything close to what most called 'friends'. Skye's personality showed to be on the quiet side, as Manik's seemed to be an exaggerated form of his father's attitude when he had been young. The impact only let loose a burst of none-too-unusual obnoxious laughter, in spite of nearly knocking the wind out of the poor fox cub. "Skyyyyye!" He complained, a playful frown playing at his mouth. "You need to keep your guard up," He told him, blind to Skye's former readiness before having being knocked over. "Next time it might be Doctor Robotnik rising from the dead as some kind of zombie." Manik snickered, lifting himself off of Skye and holding a hand out to help the other back to his feet. "What do you want to do today?" Manik, clearly, already had ideas.

"Wh-where did you all come from?"
Manik and his relationship was seen as something strange. As one was shy, and the other, loud and hyperactive. It was only at times like these that others would see the young fox peek out of his shell. He waits out in the courtyard, in the same spot, by the same tree they always met. A small smile gracing his muzzle.
Skye, if any other, seemed to one out of the few to put up with Manik’s obnoxious behavior and want for danger-seeking activities. The young hedgehog and fox, despite their differences in personality, both were known to be quite the best of friends. A holler of excitement echoed off the nearby castle wall. A sign that Manik was finally released from his royal schooling. The wind seemingly picked up, as his speed caused even the leaves of the trees to flutter from their branch of attachment.Manik’s speed sure was something to be told, no less than a reminder of the current king in his own young age.He approached Skye quick. Rushing past the usual jittery fox. Running about him until he suddenly jumped at Skye from behind. Hoping to knock him playfully down.
