Further musings on painting (because that’s pretty much all I’ve done all weekend):
I’m hurting all over. Why?? I feel like I ran 10K and done 10K squats. How is this a workout? Where are the endorphins? I could’ve used endorphins.
Crisp-white moldings sure are pretty but man are they a bitch to paint. Especially the crown ceiling ones where you have to bend-over backwards and the paint back-splashes in your face. Fun times.
For the life of me, I can’t do decent, sharp trims (or, as I know it, découpage, which sounds fancier and somewhat more risqué). I’ve concluded that I have the fine dexterity of a walrus (coocoocachoo).
Every time I’d smudge (which was way too often), I half-expected to get smacked behind the head by a stick-wielding old Renaissance master shouting “Stop fucking up my fresco, you fool!” but in Italian. Hey, a bored brain shall entertain itself whichever way it can.
Professional painters, you have my utmost respect.
