the 50k shit should be regulated to 'galacial burn'

Over 100k for 'heat death of the universe burn'
Okay so two candidates for word count “burn” categories, and then we get this:

I guess, it depends on how much times passes? Like, you can write a 3 month lapse in 10K, or, 5 days in 50K (which, I'm guilty of <.<). So I supose both are different slow burns?
So this candidate for like, some hybrid temporal-word count metric (also if you ever feel guilty about this, just remind yourself that @krebkrebkreb once took like four chapters just to get through a single dinner and I ate that right up [GET IT?????????????]).
I also saw @bluandorange ask if it’s about like how much time passes within the narrative, or if it’s time external to the narrative (so both about temporality which I’m gonna fuckin operationalize over here as internal-temporality and external-temporality because I can), @futchmccree mentioned it instead as in relation to the length of the fic (so maybe action in chapter 3 of 4 can be slow burn but so too can action in chapter 7 of 10??) and then @youraveragejoke probably said something clever but mostly just called me out so NYAH :P :P :P
It’s almost like categories are meaningless bullshit anyway destroy them, wallow in the chaos, create new ones at whim, it’s Pride Month and I’m sure these are related ideas somehow, but I’ve lagged on my caffeine consumption!!!111! so it’s hard to finish ideas.
That got weird but. anyway. I’m a big fan of very descriptive tags when something starts to get too nebulous. Alternatively, you could do what I do in practice, which is frown at the tags a lot and decide it’s not worth fucking with.
