Finally managed to snag a copy of AM2R after beating Samus Returns ages ago. Just beat it. I had a demo but I never grabbed the full game until now. Literally doesn't even compare to Samus Returns. AM2R is so so.... SO much better. And I loved Samus Returns. Two complaints: 1, too many robots lol and 2, Zeta Metroids are a biiiit tedious. But the world building... the way it bridges the gap between the Primes and the rest of the series and the way it FEELS and TELLS it’s story (or the added bits that are so great anyway) is just so much more meaningful than Samus Returns. Samus Returns was exciting and fun, and it did have a cool bonus final boss (Ridley) that AM2R did not. But AM2R felt so much better in every way. I even played it on Hard for my first run. Tbh I shouldn't have but when I did finally beat hard fights it felt really nice. Samus Returns did that a little but it was too flashy, actiony... it didnt get what made Metroid so unique. But AM2R? See AM2R should really be the one called Samus Returns. And Samus Returns on the 3DS? It's just another Metroid II remake really.
