I like the implication that Bassianus is only interested in taking away Fastred because he wants to teach Klimmek the right way of wooing a potential romance. Like that's literally the only reason why. Like even the inn owner tells him, "Klimmek is doing just fine. You should follow your heart 💖". It makes it sound like he's actually interested in Klimmek but he hasn't realized it yet 😫.
