Confession: Klimmek brings the Greybeards food, hiking all the way up the mountain, for FREE. I think it would have been cool if he were kidnapped or something and the Dragonborn + the Greybeards absolutely shout-murdered the bandits as a quest to show their thanks.

Seriously, in all the times I've had to climb to High Hrothgar for this quest, I have encountered just a single wolf, and only on one playthrough. And even HE had his troll buddy ambush me around the next corner.

Me: Hey, dude. I brought that stuff to the Greybeards for you...

Cultist: ARE YOU THE ONE THEY CALL DRAGONBORN?!

Me: Uh... Okay, you look out of your mind and that was kind of rude, so I'm gonna say no to that.

Cultist: LIES! *babbles some gibberish nonsense*

The guards pause their routines and start looking at these guys sideways, and when the cultists attack the guards, Lydia, and Barbas all jump in to help.

Klimmek: So, how'd the delivery go?

Me: Uh, where the fuck were you?

Klimmek: Oh, those cult guys looked nuts. And, like I said, I got bad knees, so I wasn't about to get involved in that. Hope that's cool.

Me: Good luck climbing those steps next time, buddy.

I like the implication that Bassianus is only interested in taking away Fastred because he wants to teach Klimmek the right way of wooing a potential romance. Like that's literally the only reason why. Like even the inn owner tells him, "Klimmek is doing just fine. You should follow your heart 💖". It makes it sound like he's actually interested in Klimmek but he hasn't realized it yet 😫.
