The warm bubbles filled the room with lavender, water slowly rocking him into a blissful sleep. It had been a long week, trekking through Emprise du Lion, having his fingers frozen off and the threat of red lyrium always looming over him. Why the Inquisitor had thought it was a good idea to bring him he had no clue. He did not like the cold, trapping through the snow or Blackwalls incessant muttering.
He let the tension fall from his shoulders. It was over, he was back now in the heat of his room. Soon, after he had cleaned off all the muck from traveling, he would take a trip to his dear commanders office. Each night he had wished to be lying in bed next to the handsome warrior who made him feel whole again. Each night he had curled up hoping to feel a warm hand on the back of his neck and warmer lips chasing away the cold. But sadly he only had Varric’s snoring and the biting winds to keep him company.
Shocked out of his inner monologue, that was settling him deeper into the water, he sat bolt upright.
“Apologies my love, I couldn’t resist, you looked so beautiful.”
“Oh amatus.” Dorians shock turned into a wide smile that crinkled the corners of his eyes. He reached up to pull Cullers scared lips down to his. He needed this. He needed him. They stayed like that, Dorian holding onto him like his life depended on it, and Cullen as his anchor, soothing circles into his back just above the water.
“Care to join me?” Dorian said cheekily, he was kind enough to ask rather than just pulling the man down into the large copper tub with him.
All Cullen did was chuckle and pulled back slightly more, just out of reach of his lovers gilded fingers. He walked and collected some scented oils from the shelf as well as a soft cloth. He wished to pamper his mage, more so now than ever. Delicately pouring it onto the pristine fabric he smiled down at his mage before planting a small kiss on his forehead. Moving to his back he silently instructed Dorian to lean forward, small pushes and hums manoeuvring him until they were sat comfortably, Dorian leaning forward in the tub with Cullen leaning into the water, wetting the fabric. He started at his neck, using his hands and the oiled cloth to gently sooth his tight muscles, slow steady circles in his bronze skin. Brushing out along his shoulders Dorian gave a small moan of pleasure as nicks were worked out of his back. Aches leaving him that he didn't even know he had. Moving down his spine Cullen methodically worked each muscle until it was loose and Dorian was almost at one with the water he sat in, head lolled forward and slow breaths coming with each flow of the water as he moved.
All too soon Cullen was done, he gently lay the boneless Dorian back and kissed his damp hair. Quietly cleaning away the bottles and oils that had been added to the still steaming water.
“You look beautiful.” Cullen couldn’t help the words falling from his lips, breaking the soothing silence that hang above them.
“I do, amatus. You need to do that to me more often, I never thought I could feel this relaxed.” He murmured, eyes half lidded and slack jawed.
“Come, lets get you dry and we can go and get some food.” A pout drew itself of those bowed lips, but he complied all the same. Dorian wished to curl up with his warrior almost as much as he would like to stay in this bath forever, hold onto the feeling he has of being loved in this very second. But the warmth of Cullers hand on his arm reminded him of the deeper love he felt when in that mans arms.
Slowly standing, Cullen brought over a soft towel and wrapped it round his shoulders, laying his hands on his biceps before pulling him in to one more kiss.
“I know a better way to dry off.” Dorian said, and in a puff of rich purple smoke, he flapped up into the high ceiling, round twice before swooping down to the bed. Cullen could help but laugh at his lover, now contently settling on a pillow, all fluffed up from his flight. Slowly Cullen sat on the bed and lay his head next to his small fluffy lover. Even in bat form he still had such grace, but it was now hidden under a fluffy exterior.
He couldn’t help gently booping Dorians nose, he looked too cute and so relaxed. A look that he expected was supposed to be intimidating instead looked as if he was smiling, deep brown eyes with flecks of silver looked up at him. He was so close he could hear the content chitter coming form his small lover. Dorian shuffled forwards towards Cullen head, that rested on the pillow beside him. A small lick on his nose and a question in his eyes. Soon there was a golden glow and Cullen shifted, now his paws reached out to draw Dorian onto his neck. They settled in the plush bed, without a care in the world until rumblings of their hungry stomachs would wake them in a few hours. Until then they could just lie in safety, here, with one another.
