Subway station pre-design I did for the Bat-Fam episode "The Art Of Claire".
With an NYCC panel this Saturday, ahead of it November debut, Prime Video dropped a key art poster for its animated series Bat-Fam.
Again, I’m in no way the target audience for this, I'm just confused about some of the creative decisions.
Such as Selina being a literal cat.
@forgotten-rae I didn't know how to reply on the post with a video so I'm just making a new post bc it's worth having the full clip up
!?!!? My delusions actually came!!!!!
Damian was really enjoying this style, wasn't he?
Thanks, BAT-FAM
WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE HAVE A DAMIAN WAYNE PARENTED BY BOTH JOKER AND BATMAN?!?!
Batman: has a son
Joker:
Yesterday a new batman series came out, let's talk about it
First of all, before you watch this, you need to know that this is a follow-up series to the prime original series "Merry Little Batman". This doesn't take place in the main universe, meaning that non of the Robins or Batgirls are shown here (with the exeption of Damian). I saw some people being confused why they weren't there. They aren't here, cause they don't exist! (or at least they didn't become batman sidekicks).
[CORRECTION: Someone pointed this out in the comments and I just fact-checked it: Nightwing exists in this universe! He is on Damians emergency contact list in the movie! (12:20 min into the movie)]
Second of all, I loved the Merry Little Batman movie. So, I was very exited for this series. It's 100% a comedy kids series and I love it! It's funny, has good life lessons and the characters & their relationships are well rounded and worked out!
So, now, let's talk about the characters! (cause I love all of them!)
First of all, we have Bruce, Alfred and Damian. I think we all recognised them, haha! In this universe Batman cleaned up Gotham completely when he found out that he was going to have a son. Also, meaning that this Damian was most likely not raised in the league and you can tell that this is the case. He is way more child-like (age appropriate). They have a great father-son relationship, even if Bruce is overprotective. Damian is also not Robin in this universe, he is just a little Batman. (confusingly there was one scene where Alfred and Damian were playing and Alfred was dressed as Robin? This seems like a plot hole, because I'm pretty sure that it was mentioned in Merry Little Batman that Bruce didn't want any child sidekicks? So, how do they know Robin? It's a mystery haha!)
[CORRECTION: Again, Nightwing DOES exist in this universe, so Dick was most likely Robin before Damian became little Batman :) ]
Next, we have Claire and Ra's. Claire is an aged down version of Volcana, a supervillain. I won't explain how she got aged down (watch the series if you wanna know hehe), but after she got turned into a teenager, Bruce took her in and she became a part of the family. The is the stereotypical moody teenager and I love her way more than I thought I was gonna love her, haha. Ra's al Ghul in this series is represented as a ghost. I'm pretty sure in current comic book continuity, he is also dead? He basically haunts the manor, trying to bring down Batman and just be a nuisance, haha! Also, I can't place his accent, but I think it sounds more Eastern European? (Which is a little odd, since Damian looks Middle Eastern?) But it does give Ra's this vampire vibe, which I really dig. It's really funny, especially since Damian keeps calling him "Pop-pop".
Then we have Alicia Pennyworth! She is Alfred's little niece and a childhood friend of Bruce. Her name could be a reference to Alicia Wilson (a niece of Alfred from earth 11). This Alicia runs a group home for reformed villains, called "E-Vil" (Ex-Villains). There was also a big twist with her that I did not see coming! I was very pleasantly surprised!
The last member of the family is Dr. Langstrom a.k.a. Man-bat. Why is Man-bat living in the manor? No idea! He just lived there LMAO! In the first half of the season he doesn't play a mayor role, he's just ... there. (And I love that for him) Later he does actually play a bigger role in the story. He also mentioned that he used to be an anti-hero in the 90s.
Last, but not least, we have E-vil. They are the ex-villains living in Alicia's group home! They consist of King-Tut, Killer Moth, Giganta, Copperhead and Sad Hatter!
(I have one more thing that I want to talk about, but it contains mayor spoiler for the finale, so spoilers under the cut!)
guys there is a kids(like preschool aged) cartoon on amazon prime called "bat-fam" and its a spinoff of the merry little batman movie and other than bruce, alfred and damian its actually mostly made up of ocs (alicia pennyworth(shes alfreds grand niece)) and other characters who arent batfam in the comics (volcana and manbat) and batfam adjacent chars (ra's) anyways im not even that mad about it the only thing thats truly giving me psychic damage is that bruce has lost all his drip in this show where is his gucci. why is this nepo baby larping as a working class picket fence midwest dad .boy you live in a mansion in new jersey why are you like this
