Y'all, one of the best things about Stranger Things season 3 is the classism/sexism fight that Jonathan and Nancy have in their car while they struggle in their first internships. Like, goddamn that is good writing. Could have gone further but I'm glad to see it.

The best part is that it doesn't even end their relationship. It makes them both relatable and sympathetic, doesn't villainize either one, and shows them both trying to understand each other and work through it while remaining who they are.

If only this were an accurate metaphor for America right now.

I think to save America we need to save the young white men from themselves. And that would help us then ALL make progress.

In other words, instead of declaring each other our enemy, we instead say "I am not your enemy and here's why and here's also why UNCHECKED CAPITALISM IS." Perhaps we can make progress in other equality/equity areas without this but I'm just worried it can't happen nonviolently without this.

I've been trying to figure out what to write on bathroom walls to share with the people that will do the most good. I couldn't figure out if I should write "forgive," or "never forget what they did," whether I wanted people to heal or to fight. But I think I shall write to everyone to just "have some sympathy for the fucking devil." I mean, who doesn't relate to fucking that??? Just, try to understand.
