Ink Demonth Day 16th: Theory

For some reason, my brain has always latched onto the Bendy!Henry / Henry!Bendy theory. Well, I have my theories (haha) but I won't share 'em here.

I decided to make this drawing based on my theory I wrote a few months back. So this also includes the theory of Joey being the Ink Demon. (The theory was about the possible original direction of the story prior to the Timeloop change.)

I really like this piece! It's one of the few I've actually completed, haha

Small rants on two Bendy theories I see next to nothing about

1. Ink Henry is made from the real Henry’s corpse.

This mostly stems from an unused asset that was originally going to be in Joey Drew’s apartment at the end of the first game.

It’s a newspaper that says an animator (Henry) was found dead at his desk from a “heart attack”. This has me believe that Henry is dead, and that contrary to Ink Henry’s belief in Dark Revival, there is no “real Henry” outside the Cycle.

We have the letter from Joey at the start of the game, which I personally think WAS a real letter sent to the real Henry. Why? Well, he quit his job as shown in Dark Revival to spend more time with his family. Joey admits he was jealous of this, and he wanted to get revenge on him. I think he sent this letter to Henry, and killed him at the studio in a manner he could frame it as a heart attack, maybe poisoning him with ink or something. That part is more speculation, but the next part is in-game evidence.

Henry isn’t like the other ink people in the game, as stated by Allison herself, and this is because he’s made from a physical body. Allison and Tom’s original/human counterparts are married, as stated in a recent letter Allison sent to Joey that is seen in his apartment (the same place that newspaper was going to be). This means that there’s something that sets them apart…and I believe it’s because Henry was made from his real body rather than made as a reflection like the others. (On a side note, I think there are other characters who fall into this category, like Susie, Sammy, Wilson, and maybe others who were more devoted to Joey’s insane cult).

2. Audrey was made from a human child that was put in the Ink Machine.

This theory I first heard about ages ago on a YouTube video, but I can’t remember what the video was.

Basically, the theory is that Audrey was made from a human child who had her own family that wasn’t Joey, and Joey kidnapped her to make into his own daughter.

This stems from the “memories” littered throughout the game that have remained a mystery for years in the community. They likely aren’t memories of her childhood with her “father” Joey, because they keep showing up after the reveal he’s Audrey’s father in the game.

These “memories” aren’t Audrey’s, but instead the “memories” of who she was made from.

Also, we know ink beings have to be made from more than just “DNA and ink” like Joey claims. They have to be made from souls, or made as impressions of already existing people. Like I explained in the Henry theory, it’s possible she’s different from the others due to her being made from a body. Even if she was just made with a soul or impression, it’s obvious: She was made from someone else.

Yeah, those are my two main Bendy theories I have, and I wish I heard more people talking about them since the human game protagonists get barely any attention in this fandom, especially Audrey despite her being a more interesting and mysterious character.

batim/batdr ranting- Tom edition

spiritual successor to this post, mostly I just want to talk abt a theory I've had abt tom for at least 2 years now but I don't think I've seen anybody else talk about. (feel free to correct me)

I'm going to start off comparing Tom's design between BATIM and BATDR.

as is the same with Allison, Tom looks a lot worse for wear in BATDR. he's missing the top of one ear, and several new scars, one of his overall straps is missing, and he generally looks more stained.

but the important part of this rant is that his arm is cut quite a bit higher up!

(also the patches on his knees are gone for some reason?)

presumably due to this higher cut, Tom's wearing a completely different prosthetic in BATDR

we already know abt the cycle deteriorating from Wilson and other assorted fuckery, so I don't really need to talk about that.

but now we get to may main theory, the one I've had for quite a while, and this is one I'm VERY confidant in. I've made a bad collage to demonstrate:

im pretty sure that in the first game, Tom's actually using an arm from the animatronic Bendy in chapter 4.

i mean, LOOK. THEY'RE THE SAME ARM.

but sometime between the two games, he's had to switch to a different prosthetic, possibly multiple times if the loss wasn't instant, like from a battle or something. I'm not sure where he got the new one from (of course, he's a mechanic, he could have just built it himself) but i's love to see other peoples ideas on that front.

again, I don't think I've seen anybody else mention this, but maybe I'm wrong.

Some DR theories that made me realize they should've hired me to write the Bendy Lore

I'm just gonna dive right in okay? Okay. First things first:

Audrey is not a Drew.

At least her soul isn't. Hear me out, why did all those failed attempts call Joey, her "father" uncle? That's not just some- weird flaw I don't think. Also, it has been proven time and time again that you cannot, I repeat, CAN NOT create a perfect living thing from the machine without a soul. Ink Bendy is a perfect example of that

One of the first things we hear the Ink Demon say is "A voice... A soul..." Why would he say that if Audrey was just made completely out of ink. It doesn't make sense.

Which is why, I think Audrey isn't a Drew. She's a Stein. This will come back later it is crucial to my next theory, I promise, so I'm quickly going to talk about:

"Everyone is just an ink copy"

See that? That's bullshit right there. I've already said you can't make a perfect thing unless it has a soul inside of it, unless you excuse the searchers and lost ones.

I really do think that Henry, Allison, Tom etc. Are all the real people. Henry is an interesting case, however.

I think it's in scraps of paper hidden in the Employee Handbook (the original one) saying something about how an employee was worked to death. Literally, found dead at their desk. Who's to say that wasn't Henry?

Joey could have had plans for an ink clone of Henry but was unable to execute it. So? Use the real Henry's soul for the copy. There ya go. It could possibly explain why some of Henry, and characters like Sammy, have their memories so jumbled up.

Now back to the topic of Audrey, what if Henry had a daughter? Joey always wanted a family, right? Seeing Henry have what he didn't definitely would have pissed him off.

So, if we were to assume that when Joey invited people over, like Allison, he could've totally sacrificed them to the machine. What if he invited Henry's daughter? And with her he could finally get what he's always wanted.

Audrey is Henry's daughter's soul

We learn that once your soul is trapped/bound to your character, you start to lose your memories, and even have false ones replacing who you really are. It happened to Buddy as he slowly forgot who he was, and started becoming more like Boris, until Buddy had seemingly faded away completely.

It could explain why Audrey has no memories of her childhood. Why she doesn't remember where she came from. Because she's not supposed to.

Audrey is really Henry's daughter, but her soul is now inside a different body, and believes she's Joey Drew's daughter instead.

Speaking of Joey, let me bring up my other theory:

Memory Joey was lied to as well

I know people think memory Joey is lying, and, while, yeah he totally could be, what if he doesn't even know he's lying?

Remember that Joey most likely made Memory Joey, and he could have told/made him to believe in everything he tells Audrey. The reason reason he seems so genuine in what he's telling us is because he was made to be that way. BUT remember when I said that you can't make something perfect without a soul? Remember how I said real memories can be replaced by false ones?

That could have happened to Joey. What if with his dying breath he became Memory Joey? He doesn't even remember who he really is or all the terrible things he's done because he designed himself to be the perfect "doesn't murder his coworkers for experiments" kind of boss, who made a few oopsies, but can easily be forgiven.

I hope this doesn't come off as ramble-y and doesn't make sense fam, but I swear this would have been a MUCH better concept

I love Dark Revival, don't get me wrong, but there is no way that none of the people we meet are just copies.

And I know there's a reason all the failed Audrey's called Joey uncle... That wasn't just some minor mistake...

So, new character bio for Wilson, huh?

Now this is interesting in SO many ways (and im sure dreamfisher-nux is also furiously typing up a post rn with even more than i got lmao)

Custodian of the ink? Who put this guy in charge, Nathan? Custodian means he's taking care of it for someone else

In both worlds. Wilson can move freely between the real world and the studio, somehow. And more than just that, I'm strongly suspecting it's not as simple as him having a magic door like the one in Joey's kitchen to walk through, because

We got a poster, instead of his in-game model.

Why does that matter? Because every character bio until now has been said character as they appear in the studio. Wilson however? We've only seen him in the real world, in the trailer. These posters are the only glimpse of his face seen inside the studio.

Something's mega sus about this old man and how he appears in the studio, I'm calling it now.

Now for those three bullet points...

Who the hell are his enemies? Sounds awfully specific to just be referring to some ink monsters that are too mindless to listen to him...

Oh hell yeah riddles-

Excited nerding aside, I think I'll go give that trailer and also the Unknown's audiolog (which we all know now is Wilson) another listen, make sure we haven't missed anything 👀

HEART THEORY

I think ink lifeforms are sustained by hearts, I'll show you why under cut !!

So, I was replaying batim today and noticed something. In the Boris room of Chapter 1, out of the Boris corpse's chest, ink was being spurted out after the lever to get it flowing was pulled.

(My own recording) I wondered why and discovered that behind it, there was a structure holding his table up that looked like an ink pipe !!

Said ink pipe in Chapter 1 from my own screenshot, compared to a screenshot from the wiki The textures are the same visually !!

This train of thought started and lead me to realise that there's a lot of heart stuff in this game, for example-

The Boris Corpses all have open, empty chests, where the heart would be expected to be

Susie dies in Chapter 4's ending by a stab to the chest, where the heart would be Expected to Be

The ink demon has a loud, thundering heartbeat that IMPLIES that he has a HEART

Level 14, the inky abyss, where The Projectionist lurks, is Full of hearts you have to collect for Susie, which may have taken the Boris Corpse hearts herself. She's collecting HEARTS .

I also realised - How does the corpse not disintigrate like the other dead folk we see ?

After first encounter with Piper in Chapter 3, the model disintigrates as if the ink burst or collapsed.

After Brute Boris is killed, his body meets the same fate

Once Sammy is killed in Chapter 5, he too disintigrates

When Beast Bendy is confronted with The End reel, it also disintigrates

A possible reason that the Boris Corpse stays intact is because of that ink pipe going inside of it, acting as a pump for the ink.

I believe that every ink creature has a physical heart that circulates ink around inside of them, the heart itself possibly containing souls too which is why the creatures dies first before disintigrating

This could be interesting, you're free to add thoughts to this theory !! I'd love to hear more ideas !!

The two bendys theory

now you maybe confused what I mean from the title if you seen both games but let me explain

so we all know that bendy can transform to ink demon and well bendy some jkyell and mr hade but I have a more interesting theory then it just being separate personalities cause despite Them having different personalities they drastically look very different (yes they look similar but different)

and not to mention in the wiki toon bendy and ink demon have their own separate wiki pages

and not to mention in the April fools joke vids they are also still shown as separate entities (even more in that one dating sim trailer)

so what I’m going at is that like ink demon and bendy are two different entities but they share the same body I know people are gonna come say and go “well they are one conscience and such” but the reason I feel this isn’t true

cause they are act so different with eachother

Toon bendy acts more like a child who can’t talk yet he plays with toy trains and such and more shy and such but when he gets a new pal (example audrey) he is extremely friendly

while ink demon

he acts more mature sadistic (also impiled narcissist)

And not to mention from what I notice bendy turns into the ink demon when toon bendy gets hurt or in danger

what I’m going at is that

ink demon is basically like a big brother/parent figure (or unless my theory is incorrect is a defense mechanism) living in bendys head since bendy never had a friend he probably created the ink demon (since it’s impiled he made the searchers and such) so maybe after the trauma bendy went threw ink demon decided to point matters into his own hands and such

now I know it’s not the greatest theory but I do love the idea of ink demon being like a big brother to bendy and such it in a way makes me feel better knowing probably bendy has a pal and isn’t alone wondering around the studio for only later turn into the ink demon and such

Pt. 4/3, I guess, rofl:

Both of these actually fit my theories scarily well. 😅😬 “Custodian” doesn't always mean “janitor;” in fact, the first definition that Google gives you is:

…Wilson is “custodian of the ink?” I think that fits this definition much better… And, like @dreamfisher-nux pointed out, “he's always watching…”

More evidence he seems to have been meddling in ink dimension affairs for a while…? Does all this mean I'm right that he's not the real villain in BATDR, like I suspect Joey was not the real villain in… well, any of the previous series entries? That he's not even the “new evil” mentioned in Audrey's character bio? Could he be more benevolent than he seems, having taken over from The Great Puppet Master when he finally keeled over? Could he be involved in the revelation of the secrets I suspect? 👀

As for Dapper Bendy… I really don't trust that “he stays out of sight. Spotting Bendy, much less catching him, is quite an endeavor” comment, considering what I suspect Nathan of… There are reasons I described him as seeming to have been “behind the curtain the whole dang time” in my thought summaries… 🚨🚩

While I'm still talking about character bios:

I dunno how much I believe it, but I saw several people on Twitter seemed to be convinced that this guy might be Brant (the reporter-in-training) from TLO. And, I mean, just to hypothetically add to all the poetics… what if they're right, and the combination of “get the truth out” (because reporter) and “guilt overtook Joey at the end of his life” symbolism I already suspected of Brant has something to do with these mysterious powers he might pass on to Audrey…? 🤔
