Allow me to properly introduce my DnD ranger tiefling, Shadaux! He’s a well-mannered intellectual fellow who used to study archaeology until a particular mishap had him stripped of his magical prowess and back to square 1. He now resides up top and far away from the underworld as a ranger, seeking to help others in their escapades and earn back his powers. He’s often mistaken for a miscreant, and his diabolical laugher, along with his massive stature do not help his case. However, he has no intent on harming anyone, only to observe his new friends at a reasonable distance.

Unfortunately, he is a bit debilitated in his skills. His eyesight is absolutely atrocious, and he misses his targets about 9/10 times. He also has yet to regain his magical aptitude. At the very least, he is a slinky fellow who can evade shots and attacks with graceful ease, making him a rather difficult target.

One thing Ashley and I commonly do during Drawpile sessions is exchange colour palettes we’ve found online, along with picking a select few characters of ours, then draw them out. I love the variety of characters and colours in these drawings! It’s a pretty good exercise for placing values, and sometimes, quite honestly, fighting to make a palette look acceptable on certain characters.

I’m a sap and I really adore this pairing. Not to mention, they’re two very important characters in an upcoming project between Ken and I! Look forward to that!

In the meantime, enjoy them being absolute goobers who can’t decide between their love for each other and their love of money. At least they found someone who understands where they’re coming from--though Gitana’s going to have to come to terms with having a very high-maintenance boyfriend with no concept of budgeting, and he’s going to have to deal with her corner-cutting, penny-pinching sleight of hand.

Creator meets creation. Creator suffered serious secondhand embarrassment. (for the record, that is a kazoo in the top picture)

Another specific note to her character is her love of radios and electronics. She has a lot of personal attachment and sentimentality to them that enters the realm of fictional, though she’d never make anyone else privy to this. She’s also a very skilled vocalist and sings a lot in her free time, but usually without an audience.

There’s also some sad girls in here. Why? Because everyone loves exploring the sad side to their characters... I’m merely human.

Here’s another “new” character I’ve been working a lot with lately. Her name is Tessa Host, the outspoken and anxious ringmaster. She’s dainty and timid, but absolutely cannot hold back any of the thoughts on her mind, especially when nervous. In moments of peril, she tends to throw herself in the way of danger if it means for an immediate solution and generally submits to aggressive parties just to diffuse tension. She doesn’t allow herself to openly enjoy a lot of her interests out of fear of judgement, but she has an affinity for ridiculous, goofy chicanery. Good thing she works at a circus!

I also drew her as a puppet. I love puppets.

In celebration of my many unicorns, here’s a picture with high unicorn content containing Shadaux, Etiquette, and Dale (with a bonus Dale revamp reference!)

Shadaux would have a lot of respect and intrigue for those two, being that they both have a degree in helping. To reiterate, they are my UNIversity professors dedicated to the instruction of budding new unicorns and their magical growth. Etiquette teaches the ins-and-outs of, well, etiquette at parties and granting wishes, and Dale teaches proper grooming and hair-care. It’s not enough to simply stay clean, there’s an art to being magically fabulous, and he knows a thing or two about that!

They are both rather small. Shadaux comes in at about 8-9ish feet, and Etiquette only measures to roughly the top of his heels! Dale is somewhere around knee-length for Shadaux, but would be about the height of a standard Labrador.
