Ever since that UNEXPECTED CALL Richie yearned to spend practically every waking ( shit, sometimes even sleeping ) moment with the other. FEARS — Richie had a lot of it, more than he wanted to admit, but t i m e had never been one of them. Now however, it was almost his number one fear : the world was a practical jokester it seemed. How much TIME had the two of them WASTED ?? Years had gone by, && Richie for damn certain wasn’t going to let that happen again.
So today was like many others : the two of them trying to find s o m e t h i n g to do in the town they were forced to remain in. Well, at the very least until they graduated. What however prompted such a proclamation ?? Perhaps his fear of time, of not getting enough of it. Perhaps it was because he was tired of holding it in ; the whole world knew Richie could hardly keep much a secret. There were a lot of possibilities as to w h y — && even Richie himself couldn’t tell you. It just felt right. Like there was something deep within him that just had to let Eddie know, like if he didn’t the boy would no longer be able to go on.
DRAMATIC yes, but oh so Richie.
The Tozier boy didn’t expect anything in return, after all he was ANNOYING, a nuisance to most ; he could admit this. Even when he went on && on && on, doing some voice or other, there actually was a small part of his brain that said yeah, maybe you should stop. He just never listened. Which is why Rich was happy just to be tolerated.
Richie would have been content to just sit there in silence ( well, for a few seconds anyways ), && stare out into the canal below them. However Eddie’s words made him oh so aware of every nerve fiber, SHIVER running down his spine as Eddie leaned against his side. Breath caught in his throat, muscles stiff for a lingering moment before he slowly relaxed against the touch. A small grin curled up on his lips, lanky arm swinging around, resting around Eddie’s shoulders.
Nerves flopped around in his stomach, knowing fully well what this feeling meant. After all, Richie did have crushes before. Shame however, for none compared to this, none could be as damning as this. One wrong move && Richie was well aware this could all be fucked up, && that was the last thing he wanted.
Again, something he couldn’t bare.
“Spagheds, I thought you were raised not to lie ??” he attempted to quip, bravery always fleeting. However, he made no move to pull away, chin instead resting ‘pon the top of Eddie’s head, his scent s o o t h i n g despite the inner turmoil. However, Richie for once was not in a joking mood, his usual zestful tone falls a little FLAT. “But uh — I’ll remember that Eddie, for later when you try to pretend not to care. I’ll know that really, you’re happy. REALLY HAPPY.” @batteryacidfcknuts / con’t.
